HISTORY
Word
& Spirit Church was originally founded in 1991 by Pastor
Jann Butler of By His Word Christian Center located in
Tacoma, Washington, first being known as Word of The Spirit. Pastor Jann, being led of the
Spirit to start this work, asked for Deacons and Elders from
his congregation to come and help establish the work in
Bremerton. After a year and a half of helping Pastor
Jann, he selected Donald and Carolyn Kielley, ordained Elders from
By His Word Christian Center, to take over the new church.
Pastor Don and Carolyn have remained as Senior Pastors over
Word & Spirit Church since assuming the Pastorate.
The church relocated first from Bremerton to Silverdale,
Washington and then was brought back to Bremerton just off
Wheaton Way (State Highway 303 NE). We currently meet at the
Bremerton School District's Administration Building at 134
Marion Ave. N. Although Pastor Jann is the Apostle over Word & Spirit Church we are a
non-denominational, Spirit filled, Word of Faith preaching
and teaching church. We have no denomination control
over us but we have Apostolic accountability from Pastor Jann
Butler.
